Frequently Asked Questions
How do I print a guide?
When a full text collection guide is displayed
(for example, the
Frederick
Dockstader guide),
you will find a link entitled “Print/No Frames Version” beneath the Table of Contents, part of the
left-side frame. Clicking on this link will produce the print-friendly version.
To return to Arizona Archives Online, close the print-friendly window.
Can I search the holdings of just one institution?
Yes. From the home page select
“Browse Guides by Repository.”
Are these collections digitized?
Although only a small number of collections have been digitized as of 2002,
over time digital images of selected collections will be made available through
Arizona Archives Online. If a collection is digitized, you will find a link from
the collection guide to those materials.
Does this site include guides to all the collections held by these
repositories?
No. The repositories will be adding collection guides on a regular basis; however,
if you do not find what you are seeking, please do make contact with the archivists
through the contact page.
How do I obtain a copy of an item?
Each repository handles reproduction of material a bit differently. Please
consult directly with the institution that owns the collection through the
List of Participating Repositories.
If I find a digitized image I like, can I use it in my class report?
Yes. Arizona’s archives are pleased to support scholarship and learning in this
manner. The image should be credited appropriately. If you wish to publish the
digitized image or engage in a commercial venture, you will need to make arrangements
to do so with the repository responsible for the image. Additional permissions and
a fee may be required.
Will this site include other Arizona repositories?
Yes. The initial goal of the Arizona Archives Online project is to make collection guides for archival collections at each university accessible and searchable through
a single Web site. Collection guides from other archival repositories in Arizona will
be added in the near future, so that eventually researchers can view and search guides for as many of the archival collections located in Arizona as possible.
How can my repository participate?
You can send an e-mail to the archivists to learn more. The project members
will welcome your contribution and appreciate your interest.
